Anne Persson Lucenius

I work under the artist name Anne Persson Lucenius. I live in Stockholm, was born in Finland, but raised in Sweden. I have been painting for most of my life, although with countless breaks for studies and family life. However, I always return to painting… there’s always a new piece demanding attention, wanting to come to life.

My main subjects are people. I also enjoy incorporating text into my paintings. I’m interested in outsider art and pop art.

I have studied at Medborgarskolan’s art school (foundation course), the Art Teacher Program at Konstfack, and Graphic Design and Illustration at RMI Berghs. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in History from Stockholm University.

I have participated in numerous exhibitions, including in the USA (Miami), Italy (Rome), and Zurich. My most recent exhibition was last autumn at Artportable’s showroom. I have also taken part in juried exhibitions such as Edsvik’s Autumn Salon and Solna Art Gallery’s Spring Salon – twice, most recently in autumn 2024.

In 2007, I was named the Sweden-Finnish Artist of the Year by Soumiart.se. The jury included Ricardo Donoso, Artistic Director at Edsvik Art Hall, artist Harri Monni, and Annika Söderberg from the Finnish Institute.
