Vemodet
Vemodet photography is the artist name of Swedish photographer Claes Eliasson.
Vemodet is a Swedish word that has a special meaning to swedes, something deeply connected to the soul of the Swedish people. Maybe you could say its the opposite to “a silver lining”. No matter how beautiful a thing, there is always some darkness lurking around the edges.
This is what Claes is looking for in his art. And maybe there is beauty in the darkness?
